Every eligible listing on Stra includes a short verification video. Our team reviews it before the listing goes live. Most approvals happen within a few hours. Most rejections happen for the same reasons.
Here's what we check, and how to make sure you don't give us a reason to send it back.
1. Lighting
Dark or heavily shadowed videos fail more than anything else. We need to see the item clearly. Natural light from a window is enough. Avoid filming at night with a single overhead bulb behind you.
2. The condition matches the description
If the listing says "minor scratches on the back panel," the video should show the back panel including those scratches. If the listing says "perfect condition," the video should show an item with no visible damage. Mismatches between what's written and what's shown are the fastest route to rejection.
3. All claimed features are demonstrated
For electronics, this means powering the device on. Showing the screen working. Testing ports if they're mentioned in the listing. A phone listed as "Face ID functional" should show Face ID working in the video. Don't just show the item sitting there.
4. The item is the same item in the photos
We cross-reference your video against your listing photos. If the colour, condition, or configuration looks different in the video, we'll ask for clarification. Use the same item in both. Same colour, same physical state.
5. Model numbers and identifying information are visible
For electronics especially, if the listing mentions a specific model, the model should be legible on the device in the video. Flip the phone over, scroll to the settings page, show the label.
6. The video is stable enough to review
We understand you're holding a phone, not running a production. But if the video is so shaky we can't make out the item clearly, we'll ask for another one. Hold the item steady, or prop your phone up while you demonstrate.
