When a seller listed a Samsung 65" QLED TV at ₦380,000, we knew the verification was going to be different.
Most product verification happens on a table or flat surface. Clean background, controlled light, item held up and rotated. That works for phones, accessories, shoes, clothing. It doesn't work for a television that weighs 25 kilograms and is wall-mounted in someone's living room.
What the seller did
They photographed the TV mounted, showing the full screen. Then a close-up of the bottom bezel with the model number visible. Then both ports on the side panel; HDMI, USB, the works. And a final photo of the remote in front of the screen.
The verification video started with the TV off, showing the screen clearly with no dead pixels visible. The seller powered it on using the remote, Samsung boot sequence, full panel illuminate. Then flipped through three different HDMI inputs to show all ports working. Then opened the settings menu and scrolled to the display information screen, showing the exact model number on camera.
Total runtime: 41 seconds.
The review
Model number in the settings matched the listing. Panel showed no burn-in, dead pixels, or discolouration during boot and while displaying the home screen. Remote functional. All listed ports tested and shown working.
